The Lake Chabot Trail Challenge is part of the  East Bay Triple Crown trail run series featuring 3 organized trail runs in the East Bay and awarding trophies for combined top finishers in men's and women's open and 50+ senior's catergories.

The Lake Chabot Trail Challenge Half Marathon was chosen by Trail Runner magazine as one of America's Most Scenic Races, recognizing its "strong track record of organization, aid station support and safety" in its May 2000 issue!

Golden Bay Runners is a non-profit club that was started in 1983 to help stage
this event in celebration of the East Bay Regional Park's 50th anniversary.
The event now provides fund rasing for the
East Bay Regional Park Foundation and it's Lake Chabot Trail
Enhancement Fund.  To date more than $21,000 has been donated to the foundation.
